Am I still working for Oracle?

One Oracle evangelist that we had the pleasure to meet in a training 2 years ago told us a story from the past, when Oracle employees had individual accounts for everything: email, internal applications, HR (paycheck, training) and so on. A friend of his left Oracle and they canceled all his accounts except the paycheck one. That dude received his monthly paycheck for another 1,5 years.

I was just checking my status, and I noticed that i still have a working email address @oracle.com. I wonder, will I receive my paycheck for November. That would be sooooooo cool.

Here’s the autoreply I’ve set for my Oracle account:

Dear sender,

Thanks for your email.

I am no longer working for Oracle since November 1st. If you receive this, Global IT did not cancel my account yet.

Please direct your requests to my ex-manager, [name and email]
