“I am a Google partner” but Google doesn’t give a shit
Tags: google, google apps, romanian initiatives, spammFamous for it’s search engine spamming (Spamdexing), ClubAfaceri, a Romanian “business” portal is now proud to associate it’s name with Google Inc. They have implemented Google Apps on their website and they are offering access on their domain to the famous Google Mail, Google Calendar, Google Startpage, Google Docs, Google Talk, etc to their SMB clients. This is not an official partnership as anyone can implement Google Apps for over 2 years now - just as I did on webmyc.com. There is even a comment from one of ClubAfaceri’s owners where he admits there is no official partnership between his company and Google Inc, all in this pathetic story. Another more realistic coverage here.
Followers appeared rapidly and another Romanian portal (targeted on the auto moto market) - Masini.ro, announced it’s “partnership” with Google Inc.
Who’s next? Neogen.ro ? Not yet, they still have to cope with the trafic that domain speculations brought them.

2 short remarks :
1. I am not owner of ClubAfaceri. I just created a website long time ago and managed the company, you can check webarchive to see what was about before “spamdexing”. I am proud of what i had created as idea of website.
2. Do you really believe that Google has no implication in this ? And at Mirabilis and everywhere ? They don’t just seat and watch …

Claudiu,
1.I never said you are the owner of ClubAfaceri. The links is pointing to Mihail Serb’s comment on your writeup
2.Google is of course involved, they provided support and all the other features requested (I believe free Google Apps has a limitation on the number of accounts). My point was that this is not a commercial/strategic partnership between those Romanian companies and Google, but merely an implementation of a free Google service package.

You are right there is no partnership. At least a signed one… but is a strategic move of Google in Romania. They enriched their activity in last 3 month a lot.

I am more than 90% convinced, that there is a signed partnership.
Plus Clubafaceri is not offering Google Apps on their domain (clubafaceri.ro), but the option to other customers to use Googble Apps under the theirs domain.
So they actually SELL Google Apps in Romania.
I think this is the first partnership of this kind in Romania.
The masini.ro “partnership” is on a smaller scale. They just give Gmail accounts under @masini.ro !

ok ok they signed an agreement and they sell Google Apps in Romania paying somewhere arrund 0.15USD/per user/per month. More on Clickio - http://www.clickio.ro/2007/10/internet/google-apps-pe-in-romania-o-suita-pentru-clienti-mici-nu-pentru-portaluri/
but this still does not make them a Google Partner in Romania. If you really want me to admit their partnership then let’s think about their underground partnership using Google to spamm the SERPs :)

I think they present themselves as Google Apps partner, not as Google partner, so it’s ok :)

Catalin, i wait for you to implement Google Apps. And we make a “combination”, you take me as partner and after that i will be partner with Google too …
Besides joking … Google knew what they were doing and choose especially some websites in Romania ( wait for ghidafaceri too … )
