Good news for fans - Metallica’s new album will be released worldwide on September 12th and as the band stated in some recent interviews this new album is more in the old style (Re-Load) of Metallica rather than being similar with St. Anger. Here is the official tracklist:

• Broken, Beat & Scarred
• The Day That Never Comes
• All Nightmare Long
• Cyanide
• The Unforgiven III
• The Judas Kiss
• Suicide & Redemption
• My Apocalypse

One title immediately jumps out: “The Unforgiven III,” following the Metallica’s “The Unforgiven” and roughly 11 years after ReLoad’s “The Unforgiven II.” The rest of the song titles are packed with common Metallica-esque themes of nightmares, suicides and the apocalypse.

Today is the big day. Metallica comes back to Bucharest after 9 years.
Although I am a big fan, I am not attending this concert as I saw them on June 3rd when they invaded the Slavia Stadium in Prague, Czech Republic.
Concert was great - super charged Metallica, much more powerful than I expected and singing lots of their old but gold stuff.

Metallica’s set list for the concert was:

In less than 5 hours my wife and I are going to wake up, pick up Hawkeye and some friends and hit the road for a one week road-trip.  We created this trip around the Metallica concert in Prague, on June 3 and it goes like this:

• May 31th - Bucharest -> Bratislava - 1021 km - spend one night in Bratislava
• June 1st - visit Bratislava for 1/2 a day and then off to Prague (335km) - spend the next 4 nights in Prague
• June 1st - June 5th - Prague - Metallica, Zoo, beer, photos, photos, beer, beer, beer, photos and some more beer
• June 5h noon - on our way to Vienna (337km) - spend 2 nights in Vienna
• June 5th - June 7th - enjoy Vienna, more photos, more beer…or maybe something more imperial
• June 7th - Vienna - Timisoara - Bucharest (564km + 548km)

It’s not going to be easy but we are traveling in a group of 8, 2 cars and several drivers.

I’ll probably post updates the following days on Twitter - so if you are interested in our road-trip or will be in any of the places mentioned above, this is the way to keep in touch.

I am off to grab some sleep, or should I say, grab a beer with Mr. Sandman ;) ?

Metallica finally confirmed the Bucharest concert - on 23 July @ Cotroceni Stadium - and the best part is that the announcement on metallica.com official website in made partially in Romanian! :)

Salutari la inceput de aprilie! Suntem deosebit de incantati sa va anuntam ca vom reveni in Bucuresti, Romania, pentru a doua oara in istoria Metallica! Mai exact, in data de 23 iulie, pe Stadionul Cotroceni din Bucuresti, in cadrul turneului european din aceasta vara, si al seriei de evenimente Emag!c Summer Fest!

Mai multe concerte, precum si noi informatii vor fi anuntate in curand!

Although we already bought tickets for Metallica concert in Prague, Metalhead comes with some great unofficial but pretty certain news - Metallica will perform in Bucharest on 26 July 2008, probably at Romexpo. This makes a lot of sense, as they are performing one day before in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Seems that Bucharest is the place to be in 2008 if you are a fan of live concerts - we will host this summer performances of: Kylie Minogue, Lenny Kravitz, Manowar, Nelly Furtado, Metallica, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Kaiser Chiefs and even a rumor that Madonna will perform in Constanta in late May…….wow that’s a lot of …ahhmmm …money!
