product-15in I am a Mac. I just go my MacBook Pro 5 hours ago and I’ve been playing with it since, trying to figure out how Steve’s wonder works. This is just a test post using Qumana, a Mac replacement for Windows Live Writer.

First questions:

  • how do I minimize all apps?
  • what is a common replacement for “right click” when you try to copy the url of an image, etc ?
  • what about “Home”, “End”, “Page Down”, “Page Up”, “Del” ?
  • why have I waited so long to go the Mac way ? :)
  • what is the most efficient way to run Windows on a Mac (Parallels, Bootcamp, VMware - heard about these but have no clue how they work and what are the differences between them) ? …for those apps that you are not ready to give up and that don’t have a Mac version already.

I’ll post more the following days, but please leave a comment if you can help with the above; don’t go LOL on me …I am a newbie! :P

Also, stay tuned on Webmyc for a photo story series with Romanian fortified churches from Transylvania. Just have to find time to put everything from last week together.

Trying out Windows Live Writer

This is my first post using the Windows Live Writer tool. You can download it from MS Writer Zone.

livewHaving an offline piece of software that enables you to write posts offline is something pretty cool and I’ve often found myself writing posts in notepad, even if I’m 90% of the time online. Why? Because you could write 1/2 hour or more in a online textarea and then submit your post online only to see an error page that nicely tells you that for some mystic reason, you lost your post or the page cannot load or something like that.

My first impression is pretty cool - nice efficient spelling check, all the much needed plugins to insert media to your post - images, videos, even live.com maps, technocrati tags and so on. I’ll write more about this tool once I get to know it and find if it’s really what they advertise it is. Until then here’s a little snapshot of the tool, just to test it’s upload feature ;)
