Later edit: the embedding does not work as expected. Apparently you cannot embed a specific article, but only topics. For example, I wanted to display an article about Golden Retrievers above, but i just got a general Dogs widget. Bummer!

Last night party was a huge success. We celebrated the grand reopening of Downstairs Club, a place handcrafted to guest wild parties. Great music, great company, lots of friends and cheap (fairly priced) drinks.
In the picture you can see one of the honorable guests, a clubbing doggie – the intellectual kind. I was a bit sorry to see such a mild creature surrounded by a crazy crowd, lots of smoke and loud music. BTW, although the place is huge and over 700+ people partied like crazy and danced restless until dawn, the ventilation was just right and there were no breathing problems, like you can find in popular clubs in Bucharest.
The party carried on tonight and is still on tomorrow night. I skipped today as Mr Jack Daniel’s and I had a deal not to meet more often than daily but I will be present, at least for few hours tomorrow (Sunday). This was just to let you know that Downstairs is probably the only place in Bucharest where you are able to enjoy 3 different kinds of Jack: Gentleman’s Jack, regular Jack Daniel’s and Single Barrel Jack Daniel’s. I putting efforts so that a 4th kind of Jack – the best one – Jack Daniel’s Silver Edition will be available.

2008 Bucharest Concerts list

There are quite a few concerts happening this year in Bucharest and it was difficult to follow all the dates and concert info on several sites, so I decided to put together a list with all the important one. The list is in Romanian but I am pretty sure you will figure out who’s singing, where is the event taking place and where to buy tickets

Firefox 3 beta 4

I was very happy to try out the new betas of Firefox 3, but until now, they had a major issue – Google Reader was not working right – and this was pretty much a show stopper for me as GR is one page/app that I heavily use daily.
With over 900 fixes since beta 3 and with focus on page loading speed and memory consumption, Firefox3 beta 4 is rightfully called Release Candidate 1. After RC2 we will have a final Firefox3 that opposed to Internet Explorer 8 is not disappointing at all.

BUCIUM – event pictures

The concert from last Friday was a great success – the sound was top quality (although the drums were a little to loud), the public was ecstatic. You can buy "Voievozii" album from Carturesti and Muzica stores in Bucharest and very soon in online stores. You can also listen to Bucium songs on the band’s myspace page.

Shine A Light – Scorsese and The Rolling Stones

Guess what? April 4 – the new Scorsese movie – "Shine A Light" is being released and it’s all about The Rolling Stones.
After producing "No direction home" (2005) a great bio of Bob Dylan, Scorsese now takes on the challenge to direct the bio movie of the grandpas of Rock. Just imagine a Rolling Stones concert filmed by one of the most talented directors and producers.
Scorsese has made another fabulous concert movie using all modern techniques available. Scorsese had the Stones rehearsing their stage show for some days so he was able to choreograph his cameras. Shot with 16 cameras he is able to be always on the right image to the music. But yet it is not senselessly hectic like a bad music clip but allows you instead to watch the musicians and get a feeling for them. The Stones are at their best, delivering one hit after the other. There are some surprises like a duet by Mick Jagger and Jack White III. Buddy Guy and Christina Aguilera also blend in perfectly with the rhythm of the Stones. In between there are some short clips of old Stones interviews which are quite funny and also some Behind-the-Scenes-Footage.

WordPress 2.5 – give it a spin

If you are anxious to see how WordPress 2.5 admin interface looks like you can give it a spin at this test site. Nothing very impressing – some optimized processes, a cleaner look&feel, insert gallery of images feature and that’s about it. Big fans of the former version will certainly have something to comment but I’ve always believed that newer is better …that until Vista . I just hope they did not change the taxonomy again so designers&developers will not need to re-create their themes & stuff.

George Buhnici este reporter PROTV. Atat? Nici pe departe. Intrat relativ recent in blogosfera, George scrie extrem de bine. Motto-ul blogului sau "Informatie gratis despre lucruri care costa" se regaseste din plin in toate postarile sale. Ultima isprava a sa este finalizarea unui ghid complet despre cum putem aduce o masina din Germania.
