Who let the dogs out? Who? Who?

Last night party was a huge success. We celebrated the grand reopening of Downstairs Club, a place handcrafted to guest wild parties. Great music, great company, lots of friends and cheap (fairly priced) drinks.
In the picture you can see one of the honorable guests, a clubbing doggie – the intellectual kind. I was a bit sorry to see such a mild creature surrounded by a crazy crowd, lots of smoke and loud music. BTW, although the place is huge and over 700+ people partied like crazy and danced restless until dawn, the ventilation was just right and there were no breathing problems, like you can find in popular clubs in Bucharest.
The party carried on tonight and is still on tomorrow night. I skipped today as Mr Jack Daniel’s and I had a deal not to meet more often than daily but I will be present, at least for few hours tomorrow (Sunday). This was just to let you know that Downstairs is probably the only place in Bucharest where you are able to enjoy 3 different kinds of Jack: Gentleman’s Jack, regular Jack Daniel’s and Single Barrel Jack Daniel’s. I putting efforts so that a 4th kind of Jack – the best one – Jack Daniel’s Silver Edition will be available.

Se redeschide DOWNSTAIRS – Azi!

Astazi, incepand cu orele 20:59 
se redeschide DOWNSTAIRS in noua locatie de pe Calea Floreasca 111. Asa cum am mai amintit, spatiul este mult mai mare, aproximativ 500mp. Aceiasi muzica, aceleasi gazde primitoare. De abia astept. Intrarea si cica si alte chestii vor fi gratuite.
Seria concertelor live debuteaza Joi 17 Aprilie cu trupa Bucium. Se pare ca vor fi anuntate in curand si alte concerte tari si stand-up comedy. Cam intr-o luna vor avea si Internet, probabil free wifi, Mi-ar placea sa vad un RoTweetMeet #2 organizat in Downstairs si la fel de mult mi-ar placea sa il vad pe Teo pe scena clubului.
Se prefigureaza multe chestii faine. De exemplu cica daca faceti poze la petrecerile DOWNSTAIRS si le uploadati in grupul Flickr Downstairs Events, data viitoare cand mergeti in club puteti primi o bautura gratuit. Daca veniti diseara lasati un comment aici sau pe www.downstairs.ro. Binenintels ca puteti comunica cu staff-ul clubului si via Twitter

NOTA: Nu sunt nici angajat Downstairs si nici nu sunt platit pentru reclama. Asa cum povesteam, sunt prieten cu patronii clubului inca din liceu si imi place sa ajut atunci cand simt ca trebuie sa o fac.
@RoTweetMeet – what a nice crowd

1st @RoTweetMeet – Last night the first meeting of Romanian Twitterers (twitteroos sounds more like it 
) took place at Jadoo Restaurant. @RoMicrosoft took care of the draft beer and catering. Congrats Diana Maria and Alin Zainescu for organizing such a nice event.
70+ bloggers and online entrepreneurs (Vlad Stan, Florin Grozea, Mihai Dragan, Emi Gal, Nihasa, Radu Ionescu, Dragos Novac & many more) were present and as you will see from the pictures we had lots and lots of fun. As I am new to these kind of meetings and I could not remember everyone, if you cannot see your Twitter ID in the photo titles, please leave a comment on Flickr.

A sosit timpul sa anunt mult asteptata redeschidere a clubului Downstairs. 99,99% va avea loc Vineri, 4 Aprilie 2008. Ar mai fi de atarnat posterele si afisele pe pereti, de amenajat barul, de instalat pupitrul (a se citi computerul ) DJ-ului si cam atat. In noul Downstairs se vor putea sustine concerte live, seri de stand-up comedy si karaoke. Puteti sa adaugati evenimentul in Google Calendar.
In mare graba, am reusit sa relansez si site-ul clubului, deocamdata un simplu blog. E foarte posibil ca unii dintre voi sa se fi simtit agresati de promovarea agresiva pe care am facut-o in ultimele cateva zile via Flickr, Twitter, Last.fm, Facebook, etc. Recunosc ca poate am exagerat un pic dar as vrea sa fie foarte clar pentru toata lumea ca nu primesc nici un ban peste aceasta promovare. Pur si simplu o fac benevol, pt ca Downstairs este clubul meu de suflet si sunt extrem de fericit ca se redeschide.
Fac push pe langa proprietari sa "informatizam" cat mai mult clubul si sper ca daca nu chiar de la lansare, ci intr-un scurt timp sa fie disponibila conexiune Wireless gratuita in club, poate chiar si un webcam live care va transmite pe site atmosfera din club. Servicii web 2.0 precum Flickr, Twitter, Last.fm, Facebook, Invita.ro exista pentru a fi folosite si mi se par solutia ideala de a crea o comunitate in jurul unui club fain.
M-as bucura tare mult sa putem spune cu adevarat "Downstairs – E Clubul tau!" si ca fiecare dintre voi sa se simta ca acasa. Chiar daca nu sunt angajat sau asociat al clubul Downstairs, puteti fi siguri ca propietarii sunt extrem de prietenosi si deschisi la orice – si cu siguranta vom putea organiza multe evenimente din industria online (si nu numai) in aceasta locatie.
Exista Google Apps pe www.downstairs.ro si in curand vom oferi clientilor fideli conturi de email de tipul nume@downstairs.ro cu capacitate de 6,5GB gratuite, contul Last.fm va fi folosit pentru a afisa pe site ultimele piese care se asculta in Downstairs live; veti putea uploada pozele facute in Downstairs pe Flickr si apoi sa le trimiteti catre Grupul Downstairs Events pentru a fi afisate automat pe site (bonus, daca faceti asta si trimiteti un mail la bob[coada-de-makaku]downstairs[punct]ro puteti primi o bautura la alegere gratuita, data viitoare cand mergeti in club); daca urmariti contul @downstairs_mash pe Twitter sau daca folositi calendarul de evenimente de pe Google Calendar, veti putea primi notificari SMS cu ultimele evenimente, petreceri, concerte din club.
Asadar, va astept la petrecerea de redeschidere, iar apoi, daca v-a placut sau nu, daca v-ati simtit bine sau nu, daca o sa mai reveniti sau nu, va invit sa scrieti la voi pe blog despre experienta avuta. Multumesc.
Bucharest Playboy Party – event pictures

As I promised here are pictures from the Playboy Party last night. The party was very crowded and Palace Colosseum proved to be to small to hold the numerous crowd of Playboy fans and Playmates. There was a drawing for some places as a copilot in the FIA GT – Bucharest City Challenge 2008 – Calin Fusu is one of the winners . Here is the full set of pictures.
Playboy Party
Feb 27th
I am on my way to the Playboy Annual Party, and as a premiere, I am taking my wife with me It’s going to be fun. I’ll try to "sneak" my camera in and maybe take some nice shots of local playmates.
Last year, Playboy Romania was operated by Publimedia International as a publisher. Unfortunately this is no longer the case, as Attica Media took over the publishing rights.
I am not sure how the new management planned this party but they already did a huge PR mistake by not inviting as a guest one of the professional photographers that was responsible for the most admired and memorable photo shootings for the same magazine, during the last 6 years. I hope at least the playmates will be there!
