Peepler.ro {Piplăr punct ro}

Peepler.ro e un serviciu web pus pe picioare prin septembrie 2008 de o echipa faina din care am facut si eu parte. Ne ziceam “Something Else” si aveam planuri mari pt .RO dar din motive mai mult sau mai putin importante fiecare a luat-o pe drumul lui – semn ca nu trebuia sa ne iasa atunci. N-as putea sa nu ii mentionez pe Adrian Grigore – cel care a adus prima data pe masa ideea acestui proiect si pe Razvan Nicu – responsabil de identitatea si primul layout Peepler.
Fiind singurul care am tras ca primul nostru produs sa nu moara, am primit acordul sa il duc mai departe cum vad eu de cuviinta. Nu am avut resurse sa ma ocup cum mi-ar fi placut dar am reusit, cu ajutorul lui Apostol Victor, sa il repun pe picioare – adica sa reparam pluginurile de cautare care incetasera sa functioneze si sa eliminam pluginurile retelelor care nu puteau fi reparate.

Peepler.ro cauta dupa adresa de email pe cateva siteuri ([not so] social networks): Hi5, Flickr, Picasa, MySpace si Gravatar. Nimic inovator – doar un pic mai eficient decat sa efectuezi cautarile respective manual. Marele avantaj? Adresa de email e unica – rezultatele gasite apartin cu siguranta persoanei pe care o cauti. Care e ideea? Peepler.ro te ajuta sa pui o fata langa o adresa de email, te ajuta sa cunosti un pic mai bine persoana cu care urmeaza sa interactionezi (pe email sau face2face).
Dupa ce am anuntat resuscitarea Peepler, pe Twitter – am fost contactat de cei de la Radio Guerrilla pentru un mini interviu. Iata ce-a iesit:

As putea spune ca anuntul de mai jos este pentru un prieten apropiat dar diversiunea nu are rost. Lucrez la un proiect de suflet si caut un pic de ajutor pe parte editoriala – iata despre ce e vorba:
Salut!
Construim un site – tip blog – dedicat celor care vor sa aiba un copil, celor care sunt “insarcinati” sau celor care sunt deja parinti – si nu numai. Mai multe detalii la timpul potrivit.
Daca esti o persoana prietena cu limba romana si cu scrisul dar ai si cunostinte medii de limba engleza – la nivelul de a putea traduce si eventual adapta(pe unde este nevoie) un articol din engleza – atunci s-ar putea sa vrem sa te cunoastem. Daca esti si absolvent/student al Facultatii de Litere/Jurnalism/etc si/sau experienta in jurnalism, esti obsinuit(-a) sa citesti si sa scrii, sa extragi sau sa rezumi esentialul dintr-un articol atunci cu siguranta vrem sa te cunoastem!
Suntem deja suflete pereche daca te pasioneaza copii, esti familiarizat(-a) cu Internetul, platforma de blogging Wordpress si iti doresti un job part-time pe care sa il poti face de acasa (sau de oriunde ai acces la Internet) si care sa nu iti ia mai mult de 2-3 ore pe zi.
Suntem in cautarea unei relatii de lunga durata asa ca daca simti furnicaturi in buricul degetelor si ai fluturi in stomac, trimite-ne un mesaj la eusunt@urbankid.ro. Poti sa incluzi un CV sau un link catre blogul tau sau chiar 1-2 articole.

Hippie weekend ahead

Looking forward for work day to end and finally be able to say hello to my friends in Vama Veche, for the 1st time this year. I know it’s pretty late for a first, usually in the last years, starting from May and until September, almost every weekend was Vama Veche, Vadu or Corbu nude weekend. My friend Radu and my better half Dana are going to provide the drinks as they celebrate 27 summers. As we predict Vama Veche will be quite crowded, just as every weekend, we are excited to try and explore the soroundings, Durankulak lake and camping to be more exact – 5km from the Romanian border. Picturs bellow are from Vadu, last Sunday.

Road-trip here we come – Bratislava, Prague, Vienna
May 30th
In less than 5 hours my wife and I are going to wake up, pick up Hawkeye and some friends and hit the road for a one week road-trip. We created this trip around the Metallica concert in Prague, on June 3 and it goes like this:
- May 31th – Bucharest -> Bratislava – 1021 km – spend one night in Bratislava
- June 1st – visit Bratislava for 1/2 a day and then off to Prague (335km) – spend the next 4 nights in Prague
- June 1st – June 5th – Prague – Metallica, Zoo, beer, photos, photos, beer, beer, beer, photos and some more beer
- June 5h noon – on our way to Vienna (337km) – spend 2 nights in Vienna
- June 5th – June 7th – enjoy Vienna, more photos, more beer…or maybe something more imperial
- June 7th – Vienna – Timisoara – Bucharest (564km + 548km)
It’s not going to be easy but we are traveling in a group of 8, 2 cars and several drivers.
I’ll probably post updates the following days on Twitter – so if you are interested in our road-trip or will be in any of the places mentioned above, this is the way to keep in touch.
I am off to grab some sleep, or should I say, grab a beer with Mr. Sandman ?

TEASING: Dupa ce am alergat toata ziua de ieri sa inmatriculez masina si 60km & 10l de benzina mai tarziu am ridicat si numerele, pot sa spun ca sunt doctor in procedura si voi publica un ghid practic “Cum sa inmatriculezi o masina(de import) noua in Bucuresti” – stay tuned!

May 1st – Roadtrip!

I will be AFK (away from keyboard) most of this week as Dana and myself are taking a country road trip with Hawkeye . We plan to reach some of the major fortified churches from Transylvania, take some nice pictures and relax, relax, relax.
I hope to have the mood to document every old village we photograph and maybe show you on our return, a different kind of Romania.
My wife and I hooked up on May 1st 1999 and since then we promised to ourselves to do something special every year, on May 1st. And we did. Each year, we take a couple of days off only for ourselves and do something we haven’t done before. This year it’s time for a photo-story of the old Transylvanian fortified churches .
