Today is the big day. Metallica comes back to Bucharest after 9 years.
Although I am a big fan, I am not attending this concert as I saw them on June 3rd when they invaded the Slavia Stadium in Prague, Czech Republic.
Concert was great – super charged Metallica, much more powerful than I expected and singing lots of their old but gold stuff.

Metallica’s set list for the concert was:

and the classical ending where James invites the old fans, that participated in other Metallica concerts, to teach the new fans this great song: ‘Seek And Destroy’.

Road-trip here we come – Bratislava, Prague, Vienna

In less than 5 hours my wife and I are going to wake up, pick up Hawkeye and some friends and hit the road for a one week road-trip. We created this trip around the Metallica concert in Prague, on June 3 and it goes like this:

May 31th – Bucharest -> Bratislava – 1021 km – spend one night in Bratislava
June 1st – visit Bratislava for 1/2 a day and then off to Prague (335km) – spend the next 4 nights in Prague
June 1st – June 5th – Prague – Metallica, Zoo, beer, photos, photos, beer, beer, beer, photos and some more beer
June 5h noon – on our way to Vienna (337km) – spend 2 nights in Vienna
June 5th – June 7th – enjoy Vienna, more photos, more beer…or maybe something more imperial
June 7th – Vienna – Timisoara – Bucharest (564km + 548km)

It’s not going to be easy but we are traveling in a group of 8, 2 cars and several drivers.

I’ll probably post updates the following days on Twitter – so if you are interested in our road-trip or will be in any of the places mentioned above, this is the way to keep in touch.

I am off to grab some sleep, or should I say, grab a beer with Mr. Sandman ?
