WordPress 2.5 – give it a spin
Feb 15th
If you are anxious to see how WordPress 2.5 admin interface looks like you can give it a spin at this test site. Nothing very impressing – some optimized processes, a cleaner look&feel, insert gallery of images feature and that’s about it. Big fans of the former version will certainly have something to comment but I’ve always believed that newer is better …that until Vista
. I just hope they did not change the taxonomy again so designers&developers will not need to re-create their themes & stuff.
Cum aduci o masina din Germania – ghid detailat
Feb 10th
George Buhnici este reporter PROTV. Atat? Nici pe departe. Intrat relativ recent in blogosfera, George scrie extrem de bine.
Inmatircularea in Romania.
- Q&A – Intrebari si raspunsuri
New website for Orange Romania
Jan 24th
Orange Romania have silently relaunched their website today. I am guessing they are debugging and making sure everything works before the official press release as I am not able to find any official information about their face lifted website.
WebShop and WebCare applications have maintained the old look & feel and probably they will get revamped in phase 2.
I personally find the content very crowded and I’ve also noticed some bad CSS usage but the improvements are clearly noticeable and they brush some of the dust from that old website.
Trying out Windows Live Writer
Sep 9th
This is my first post using the Windows Live Writer tool. You can download it from MS Writer Zone.
Having an offline piece of software that enables you to write posts offline is something pretty cool and I’ve often found myself writing posts in notepad, even if I’m 90% of the time online. Why? Because you could write 1/2 hour or more in a online textarea and then submit your post online only to see an error page that nicely tells you that for some mystic reason, you lost your post or the page cannot load or something like that.
My first impression is pretty cool – nice efficient spelling check, all the much needed plugins to insert media to your post – images, videos, even live.com maps, technocrati tags and so on. I’ll write more about this tool once I get to know it and find if it’s really what they advertise it is. Until then here’s a little snapshot of the tool, just to test it’s upload feature
ZAN Hotel – a place you don’t expect to find in Voineasa
Jul 29th
I just launched the new website of ZAN Hotel (www.zanhotel.ro), a great place that can accommodate you in Voineasa, Romania.
This is not just an article to promote a new website that I created, but it’s a sincere recommendation for those of you looking for a nice place to relax and enjoy some cool days in this time of heat. I’ve had the occasion to spend some days at ZAN Hotel and let me tell you – it was a great experience that I would be willing to repeat at least every weekend (Mr. Manager – do you hear that?
). I was there to take pictures for the website, but unfortunately the weather was cloudy and I could not capture the essence of ZAN’s exterior beauty. I’ll get back there as soon as I can to fix this.
The thing that shocked me most was that you don’t expect to find such conditions in Voineasa – mountain resort that did not attract to many investors and is still considered to be one of the remains of the communism era in Romania. Except from ZAN, you can find almost only old hotels that were renovated a century ago but with up-to-date prices.
It’s a pity this happens, because Voineasa is a great place to relax – it offers you many hiking/trekking trails, a beautiful scenery, lots of activities to perform in all seasons: skiing & winter sports, mountain biking, hiking, trekking, ATVs, horse-back riding, hunting for wild cocks, boars and bears, etc. Also the place is recommended for it’s super clean and ionized air and is considered to be a national health resort.
ZAN Hotel offers you 4 star accommodation, with very stylish interiors, rooms with air conditioning and internet and a bunch of facilities you can use: restaurant, pub, conference room, football field (that can used also during the night – nocturnal) – and in the basement, the best SPA i ever had the chance to try. Let me tell you, this SPA has it all: wet and dry sauna, solarium, fitness center, pool and the incredible jacuzzi. The SPA can be used any time of day and night, and if you get lucky to be the only one using the jacuzzi or pool, you can lock the doors and enjoy the ride to paradise.
Spending some time with your friends at ZAN Hotel makes you feel at home, like you own the place and it’s your private mountain chalet. All of this happens thanks to a friendly staff, a cozy atmosphere and a great cook.
You can book a room online and the price is extremely good: 34€ for a single room and 64€ for a double room – it’s great value for this money.
The website is only in Romanian for now but it will soon have an English version. Please don’t hesitate to make any recommendations for the website – constructive criticism and praises
are highly appreciated.
If you get the chance to visit ZAN Hotel and take some cool pictures at the location, send them to me and I’ll be happy to host them on ZAN Hotel website.
Thanks!
Why I will not buy an iPhone
Jul 6th
After all the hype that has been around the iPhone, I’ve been thinking whether this should be my new phone or not.
Fortunately, Gizmodo published a list with all the things iPhone does not have, list that has been on my mind since Steve Jobs first announced the revolutionary phone.
Although very cool in design, like all Apple products and with extremely nice features for a hand held device, i don’t think I can live without GPS and 3G. These are my main concerns and the reason why I will probably wait for an upgraded version of the iPhone or a decent competitors device (probably HTC)
.
Here’s the full list from Gizmodo:
Finally Confirmed: What the iPhone Doesn’t Have
• Songs as Ringtones
• Games
• Any flash support
• Instant Messaging
• Picture messages (MMS)
• Video recording
• Voice recognition or voice dialing
• Wireless Bluetooth Stereo Streaming (A2DP)
• One-size-fits-all headset jack (May have to buy an adapter for certain headphones)
Stuff we already knew it didn’t have
• 3G (EV-DO/HSDPA)
• GPS
• A real keyboard
• Removable battery
• Expandable Storage
• Direct iTunes Music Store Access (Over Wi-Fi or EDGE)
